Yes indeed, unfortunately, no percussionists. Drummer/Percussionist Martin Brandlmayr is a member of Polwechsel and it had been confirmed more than a year ago that he did take part in a few sessions with Sylvian - at least we have had the opportunity to hear 'Sleepwalkers' which was a part of those sessions including Brandlmayr/Sachiko Matsubara/Toshimaru Nakamura.
But now the fact is evident that Sylvian opted for no percussion on this cd (unless you count piano - which is technically listed as a percussion instrument). Being a drummer myself, the lack of any drums or percussion is somewhat disappointing to me, but interesting as well. Yet I was really counting on hearing more contributions from Brandlmayr. I think others here on this forum also commented on how interesting his unique style sounded on 'Sleepwalkers'.
Just for the record, that info you posted from davidsylvian.net was actually taken from two posts I put here on this forum on the Manafon Yes / Manafon No thread. I predicted that davidsylvian.net would swipe it up in no time, which they did, and I have no problem with that. I actually like being listed as a 'good source' - though, as I had explained on the other thread, I received this info from the gentleman writing the official press release for Manafon. He is a great source. He has a copy of Manafon in his possession and has been listening to it for nearly a month now.

I like both pieces, but they`re not A Fire In the Forest or Snow Bourne Sorrow are they ???

Anyways, this fantastic journey continues, JAPAN re-union on hold for a year or so
