I received my copy this morning and i have too say it is a beautifully presented book. Obviously a lot of hard work and effort went into it, i'm sure it will be a great and informative read.

My copy should be here soon as Burning Shed has notified me about the shipping.

Just got this message from Anthony:

Apologies if you paid for a credit and I forgot to include your name in the end-papers. Completely my fault. By the end of the book I was nearing a cataract operation which didn't help the general state of flux and mutability that my mind was in.
Any omissions will be amended in the future editions of the book. Apologies again.

I just got the book. Nice dedication and signature on the first page. It does add that extra touch! The back page with the list of pledgers is a mess though! Several names are listed twice, and there are at least 3 omissions (including my name!) Anthony must really have been at the end of his tether!

But at least I got the book - Swiss customs let it through and hell, I am looking forwards to reading it! Flicking through it, some fantastic photo^s!

Well, I'm not a fan of signed copies either, but in this case I choose for this option + the credit, so it would raise more money for the project. Therefore it's a shame nobody did a good check on those credits; people paid for that credit!
Anthony claims he didn't have enough time for this, but the pledge-period ended more than two years ago, so he could have made a concept-version of that page right then.

I was missed out on my credit too. Part of me doesn't mind - the main thing was to get the book out - and it is absolutely fantastic - beautifully printed, glossy paper, great unseen images in colour and a great read - so was happy to contribute significantly with or without being named.

But I do think it's very important when asking for crowdfunding to make sure you deliver your promises. Getting the names right really should have been a priority. I hope there will be a part two and I hope this error won't make it more difficult to fund.

Ultimately, though it's out there and it is worth every penny.

I got mine today and indeed my name isn't in it either.

The strange thing is that there are 44 persons who pledged for a credit, but it seems that those who have pledged for the uncredited version did get a credit as well, because there are 135 people mentioned.

And your fear about a new fund is grounded: I doubt if I will participate in a new pledge; maybe I'll just wait for Burning Shed to carry it.

I think the book is a fine read and has stuff in it that I didn't know yet.
It was wonderful to read that Sylvian met Stomu Yamashta. I got to know him in 1976 with his wonderful album "Go", which featured amongst others Steve Winwood, Klaus Schultze, Michael Shrieve and Al DiMeola. Nice to see those two worlds come together in this meeting.

Hello.

Today I begun work on the sequel to 'A foreign place'.

'Cries and whispers' will cover the years 1983-1991 and deal with all the music that Karn, Sylvian, Barbieri, Jansen and Dean made within that period both individually and together.

I have a year to write it and once done it will be available again as a deluxe edition via Burning Shed.

Meanwhile- all revisions and corrections have been submitted toward the softcover edition of 'A foreign place'. Like wise the poster- the first edition of which I wasn't happy with. We are waiting for the Designer to confirm these amendments and once that's done we'll have publication dates, Likewise any Kindle version.

When I understand a recent post on the Kickstarter-page well, the second edition didn't add the credits that were missing in the first edition...
