Well, as someone who has been short-sighted, or myopic, since the age of ten (and therefore knows rather a lot about all this stuff), it could be that Mr B is suffering from presbyopia which, afaik, is age-related short-sightedness that can only be corrected by glasses and not contact lenses or laser surgery. Richard, I'm so, so sorry...

He might be dyslexic, y'know. Apparently people who are dyslexic don't like reading black print on a white background and so rather than asking everyone to print stuff on coloured paper maybe Rich decided on the lateral thinking approach and therefore got the purple bins? Just a thought... I think maybe I should just carry on running seeing as how I've now intimated that he has age-related shortsightedness and dyslexia. He'll be asking for that signed copy of Flame back

Not to get this back on subject but... what's everyone think of the Super Deluxe edition at $100/£60?? Is it really worth it?

I was just watching Steven Wilson presenting it, and he says "it's like the Insurgentes deluxe ed. on steroids, it weighs 3 tons, and will cost $10.000 to have it shipped to your door"!
Then, on the pre-order page, there's this:
"It's a piece of art...not some files or some functional CD in a bland crystal case...For me, the deluxe edition is a way of making music something people will want to cherish, own and treasure like they would a beautiful painting." Steven Wilson.
So, the big question for me right now is: shall I order it now or wait till tomorrow?
(Hmmm! I'm listening to the album sampler and there's something that sounds like a leftover from 'Stranger Inside'. )

Is it really worth it?

When I get it, as soon as the postman's finished abusing and insulting me, I'll let you know.

But back to the main argument: the glasses. I think he looks great with them, they give him that "are you messing with me?" kind of expression.

Well I do quite cherish the music on Insurgentes, but... tbh - I looked at the book - exactly TWO times.

You've seen one LH image, you've seen them all.

I really like the idea of the 40 page sketch book - that's about ALL that is enticing me to get this right now. Is it worth it for $100? I can't answer that yet. If I decide it is, I'll get it (if it's still available) but right now, I haven't really come to that conclusion.

I haven't looked at mine more than 5 times, BUT... Richie Baby and his glasses aren't on that, are they?
Getting serious for a second: I know what you mean. When SW spoke about the Insurgentes deluxe edition, it did make you think you were going to get Heaven knows what, but in the end... It's not that it's crap, I'm glad to have it (except that it won't fit in the CD shelf!), it's just that it could have been 'different'.
And there's no doubt that the same could happen with The Incident.
So it will be a gamble, but I've decided to go for it because these guys have been good companions for the past years, and this is a way for me to show them how much I appreciate their work. (The truth is that, as soon as I heard there was a deluxe edition, I threw myself on the ground, shaking all over and frothing at the mouth, crying out loud: "I WANT THAAAAAATTTT!!!")
