So for once : it's Europe because with DURAN DURAN they made more shows in USA : I go in New-York to see them because I don't believe we'll have some shows in Europe and I don't want to miss it...
Only festivals : and we know that in festival they aren't singing many songs like a full show...

So sorry I'm talking so much today!!!

I didn't realize DD didn't do that many non-festival shows in Europe? You sound like me, though, planning to fly to Manchester to see David the way you flew to NYC to see Duran. I'm glad I'm not the only person who will go to such extremes for a concert!

Hey, you gals are not alone! I flew to see DD in Canada and the US in 2005, from here to Seattle (including a 9 hour delay because my flights were cancelled so had to go down to Atlanta and then up there). And then I went on a road trip accross Canada's smallest roads and frontiers. So yeah, I'm crazy too! Like John and Nick told me, "Wow, Spokane? Kelowna? You made all the weird gigs!"

And BTW, I am total crazy and found a 1st row ticket for David, so now I have 2, LMAO! If anyone needs an extra anytime, let me know, I have a row R to part with.

aww Sisterlondon - you make it EVEN harder to stay away now. And to think I will be in Paris that Monday night (well monday - thursday really for a conference where I am a speaker too!)

will make up for my absence tho - somehow & somtime

(funny & somewhat spooky that it should be yr bIrthday Sept 17th as it is also my dad's - well 'was' rather since he died three years ago - anyway I am sure you are not his reincarnation - and thank god for that - his moustache would have looked awful on you!)

anyway I will be here with you guys in spirit and by that that my own DS gig date (Oct 2nd) is coming closer too

smart thinking there... and yes want to meet up again with you badly and meet Proggrrl too finally...

now (of course) I did think about doing a Amsterdam-London-Paris-Amsterdam round tour - but that had three distinct drawbacks that collectively made me abandon that 'train' of thought
a) having to leave office v early that monday while I also take preceding friday off and wont be back in office till next friday
b) The conference pays for a direct return flight and if i travel that way I cannot claim any part of the itinerary - making it quite expensive
c) still thinkng about spending monday night at home as I have house guests from thursday afternoon to monday morning and spending some time with the family is quite in order esp as I will leave again straight after that

so...yes I did weigh all the options..as i SO want to be there ...but I am afraid it is not gonna fly ..sad but true..so I hope we will meet December here and Proggrrl some other day ...in the not too distant future I may hope
