Talked to Dave this morning, it looks like he's going to reinterpret the first two Japan albums using a fusion of skiffle, polka and ancient Japanese court music.

He also mentioned that Steve will also be sitting in with the opening act, who happen to be the Wurzels.
Steve apparently has always been a huge fan of "Scrumpy & Western" music.

Should be quite intense I think.

ROTFL Guess what arrived in the office this week? The Wurzel's Greatest Hits. I wondered who they were going to be touring with. After seeing Steve's dancing in the Stay Close video, I can hardly wait to see what he'll be doing to such classic tracks as Somerset Jigalo.

I imagine that the concerts will be a lot like the Tokyo concert in 2004. David playing some acoustic guitars, Steve playing keys and samples (no real drums). What do you think?

Since Sylvian and Jansen will be accompanied by Keith Lowe on bass and Takuma Watanabe on piano and keyboards, then I wouldn't exactly envision a copy of the Fire In The Forest Tour.
Perhaps a little more along the lines of the Everything And Nothing tour? I just have a strong hunch that there will be a slight emphasis on Sylvian's more "jazzier" leanings, with Watanabe providing much of the musical shadings in the arrangements.

I would imagine 'Naoshima' as the pre- and after gig music. And the gig itself probably some older songs but not much (about one third of the concert), including a medley of two or three songs; some material from Blemish and loads of Nine Horses stuff. Mood-wise somewhere between the E+N, FitF and SlowFire tours.
