Selling My Record Mirrors & Smash Hits

Postby Steerpike on Wed Jun 06, 2007 2:43 pm

I'm going through all my old copies of RM & Smash Hits and gradually putting them on ebay. It's a slow task as I keep on reading the magazines instead! The plus side is that it awoke such fond memories of the eighties that I decided to go on MySpace to see what other 80's fans & groups there were on there and ....well....here I am!

Anyway, ebay is pretty time consuming (and the fees quite pricey ) and I'd rather the mags went to good homes than to buyers who will try and sell them on for double the price, so if you're interested in buying any, let me know the artists (or issues) you are interested in and I will have a look at what I've got and let you know (and before you ask, there are no Japan ones on offer )

The issues that I have so far, are Record Mirror 1982-1983 and Smash Hits 1981-1988. I will sell them at cost price, plus whatever the postage is. All the proceeds will go to my "Evening With David Sylvian" fund which will cover all the drinks I'll be buying for /sharing with my fellow JS's in September and anything left over after that will go towards mechandise! ;-)

I have a few on ebay still. If you fancy a look click on "advanced search" on the home page on ebay and type sneerbite in the specific sellers box.

Hey, I don't know if you have any with DD articles, I might be interested in those. Definitely I don't have RM mags, but I do have all the Smash Hits ones since end of 1985 (the John Taylor/Bob Geldof cover) onewards. I have bought some of the previous ones too, but early DD ones would be fab :)

Let me know!

Edit: i have never sold anything on ebay, so I wonder, how high are the fees? I want to sell my spare ticket for David's show there when I receive it and don't have a clue how to sell or what the fees are. Of course if anyone here needs the ticket I'd prefer selling it directly to a fan :)

I'll have to go have a look. Another valued member of our fine forum here has some DS/Japan related items (and a few other things) up for grabs on e-bay. Including the ever loverly E&N CD/tour book.

Check it out: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsonic_ ... ooZ1QQrdZ0?

Sorry Kera, if posting ebay links is not allowed. You can remove it if you want. Just thought people might be interested. :)
Trust the proggrl.

I'm watching most of those progglr, LOL! I do have that E&N tour book, but certainly it's worth if any of you want it!

BTW, bought it signed, dunno if the sig is legit, I have no clue how David's sig is. I was just interested in having it and then discovered it's signed. Wonder if it's real or not!

Hey Proggrl!

That's fine with me if you post eBay links! Even though they would fit better in the Nostalgia thread.... But meh.... We'll all still see it :)
