Razormaid

Do any of you remember the Razormaid vinyl records that would come out from time to time for dj's? A friend of mine had one with Bill Sharpe and Gary Numan's 'Change Your Mind". I was curious if anyone knows if Japan was ever featured on a Razormaid record.

Hey, smalldot...

I very much remember the Razormaid stuff. My gf was manager of a record store oriented towards DJs at the time (late 80s). She always had the various dance compilations laying around our house. The first of the CD compilations were out then, if memory serves.

I don't remember any Japan tracks. Perhaps with all the Erasure remixes, the space on the vinyl ran out!

There was a DMC remix of "Life In Tokyo" by someone called Sanny X which has a lot of SAW style synth overdubs. It is on vinyl only, I got one from Ebay.

I think there was a re-edit of European Son by Disconnet or Razormaid - I think it is on the YMO Rare FTP server. I only listened to it once, it didn't add anything.

I haven't heard that one. Just the Sharpe & Numan one. But considering Razormaid was quality, I have no doubt that the Cars re-mix is good.

And i've also found a Razormaid remix of a Seona Dancing song 'Bitter Heart' i think it's called.

And for those of you who don't know who Seona Dancing are, they were a 2 member (band?) fronted by comedian and The Office star Ricky Gervais.
