Oh Carpal!!

my right hand & arm have been hurting for days , the pain will stop for a moment, then starts right up again, since feb. of this year, my fingers has been feeling numb, burning sensation & tingling , i told my doctor about the situation & wanted me to get an wrist band, inorder to relieve the pain.....i want to relieve the pain by not using my hand as much, but on some cases, i won't be able to do that, especially @ work .....then too, my arm started hurting last week & my hand looks swollen in some areas ..........i was wondering did anyone have carpal before ?

Yes, hun---I have had it for a few years now in both hands and arms. Mine used to go to sleep at night and then wake me up in pain. My doctor prescribed wrist bands for me to wear at night, but on occasion I would wear them or another type of band during the day, but I haven't had to do that for a while now. I still occasionally have problems and still wear my bands at night, but it is something that comes and goes.

I can suggest to you to definitely use the bands that the doctor suggests because it will provide you relief and keep the syndrome from moving into other parts of your arm or shoulders, etc.

I assume that I got mine from waiting tables for several years in the 90's and doing restaurant prep work with alot of repetitive motion tasks.

Thanks for the info Krausy, hopefully i'll be able to rest my hands on this upcoming Thanksgiving vacation.....
