Canon PowerShot

Postby lastgoldstar on Thu Aug 17, 2006 11:24 am

I just got one yesterday as a belated birthday present (the A530 model). I haven't played with all the features yet, but it is taking some amazing pictures. Before, anytime I wanted to use a digital I had to borrow mom's Kodak EasyShare (what an awful camera, ha ha, no optical zoom). I finally decided to get one because I have a habit of never getting 35mm film developed... I'm going to go out today and take some photos and try to post them later.

Anyway, does anyone else here have a PowerShot, and how is it treating you?

I can guarantee that I have my old 35mm camera with film in it probably a couple years old and not developed---lol. I guess i will laugh out loud if I take it in and get any pictures back!!! :-D

I have a Fujifilm digital camera----not bad, could be better but I just got it last year, so I need to wait a while to replace it.

Geez, I didn't mean to abandon this post.

Anyway, I was out at the beach today and took just a few pictures and put them in my gallery. Nothing amazing, of course.

Congrats on your new Canon. Got my A640 PowerShot last month, haven't really used it alot but its the best camera Ive ever had. Does so much - many modes and quality is utterly fantastic. I could never do justice to it. Still, I may well try. Really, seeing the photo galleries at DS's site inspires me to capture ordinary things with fresh eyes.

Took some photos yesterday at the Renaissance Festival. Need to upload them somewhere sometime soon.

Yes, those cameras are very very nice! My uncle has one--and he took some pictures at the "Blue Angels" show--They turned out beautifully! As for the camera I am borrowing now... I forget what it's called but it's from 1996 or 1997...Perhaps 'santa' will drop me off a Canon Powershot this Christmas... I have been pretty much on this nice list this year! :smt051

PS: Gokartmozart--I agree, David Sylvian and Steve Jansen have really inspired me so much to take pictures... It is a lot of fun! Sometimes I just grab the camera and walk around the house or outside and take pictures of things that may look cool... I don't care if they don't really look that nice. It's the idea that counts, right? :smt115
