Cool. Curious, you have a lot of the 80's electronic stuff...Depeche Mode...etc. Surprised you don't have the Kraftwerk, Bill Nelson, and Devo albums...esp. Kraftwerk.

Well, I do have a Kraftwerk-album, in this case the recently released surround version of Autobahn. And I do have some of Bill Nelson's work, especially the stuff he did with Mick Karn (no surprise here). But Devo wasn't my cup of tea back then (I'm from 1960, so followed the switch after the punk-revolution) and I haven't investigated in that band after that.

Got it! Autobahn is certainly up there. I was born in 69, so a tad younger. I was a teen in the 80's...hence the New Wave interest. For my first ten years I was solely a Beatles fan (well The Monkees as well!) but weirdly, when I saw Devo on the show Fridays perform Girl U Want (in 1980), I was hooked. That pretty much started me on a journey to discover new music. It was a good time because for an instant, MTV actually played cool new stuff and so I quickly fell in love w bands like Devo, Talking Heads, David Bowie, Buggles, Oingo Boingo, Adam and the Ants, The Clash, A Flock of Seagulls, Our Daughters Wedding, Icehouse, The Blue Nile, The Residents, The Cars, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Fad Gadget, Human League...etc. I loved the electronic instrumentation, the creativity put into the presentation/art work/image... I could never go back to the bland (IMO) 70's of Foghat, Three Dog Night, Peter Frampton...etc. I fell in love w the otherworldly nature of New Wave. While I can appreciate great musicianship, I cared (care) more about artistic intentions and uniqueness. Anyone can play a guitar, not everyone can take you on a journey to another universe. Funny enough, even though Japan WAS around during this time, I barely had heard of them and was not a fan. I became a Sylvian fan about the time Secrets of the Beehive came out and worked my way backwards. While I DO like Japan (esp. Tin Drum), I am more of a Sylvian solo fan.
