The Space Between

Spatial sound design and textures place the listener amidst layers of urban ambience. Hums, shuffles, clatters and rumbles evoke the sounds of central Tokyo. Reverberations trapped in the space between buildings, or resonating below ground level. Pure sounds emerge along with harmonious tones. Melodies and rhythm structures form. Compiled as a gallery audio installation to accompany a photographic exhibit by Steve Jansen of a collection titled ‘The Space Between’, a series of images shot in the Shibuya area of Tokyo. This soundtrack aims to enhance the experience in a small, quiet gallery space. In isolation it might be enjoyed as an audio journey.

I finally pulled the trigger on this release. At first I was afraid it would be too ambient for me, but after I listened to it more closely I heard there are also so fine rhythmic parts in this 35 minutes piece too. Glad I did add this one to my Steve Jansen-collection.
