An interesting list, to be sure. There's a ton of stuff there I haven't even heard of.

Odd that he included Joanna Newsom. When I first heard Wonderful World, I thought it was her doing the singing at the end.

If you have the newest version of iTunes, go to the iTunes Store it will either be a 'Quick link' at the top right, or scroll to the bottom and under the list "Features" you will see "Celebrity Playlists"

There are loads of them, Sylvian's was added last week.

Thank you - how interesting! I don't have iTunes either but I browsed Youtube for them. They are all definitely worth searching for in their own ways....although I still can't quite 'click' with Scott Walker for some reason... Joanna Newsom is a real find - love her strange little voice. Haha 'Bag Lady' made me smile.

Edit: On another note - yay 50 posts!! Now I have Steve!

11) Stay Tuned - Robert Wyatt (Comicopera)

I adore Robert's version of this song (the original is by Anja Garbarek, on Smiling & Waving, AND Steve and Rich play on it ), but I'm a great RW fan... He's one of those artists that, like David Sylvian, always manage to surprise me musically. Each time I listen to his records the sun shines brighter!

Tinariwen are absolutely addictive. I heard them only a while ago, but had read about them ages ago. Love the sound of desert blues and the foot tapping rhythms. Once Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn passed I was in need of some ethnic funk and this wins me over easy.
