I always laugh when I see a book described as having "perfect binding"...as opposed to what exactly?

As intriguing as the book may be, I think charging £20 for a paperback is daylight robbery. He should be wearing a mask on that book cover!

Oh here we go again... these guys have to earn a living. £20 for a 300 odd page book isnt that expensive if you ask me. I paid £12 for an Apple Mac magazine at the weekend.

If you're happy (or even begrudgingly so) to pay the asking price, that's obviously personal choice. I wouldn't mind a gander at it personally, although the asking price certainly puts me off a) in principle and b) given the fact that it's a first time author self publishing.

But to say that £20 for an average sized paperback book isn't that expensive is just plain wrong. That is very expensive these days for a newly released HARDBACK you would order online. To compare it to something similar, should you wish to buy a book by ex Japan manager Simon Napier-Bell, you would pay a roughly a third.

Correct. However may I point out that Mick has been trying to get this autobiography published for a considerable length of time and looked at several different publishing houses before deciding to publish it this way, ie: the book is printed specially for each order received. £16 isn't expensive for a newly published autobiography (on-line or otherwise), although admittedly they are usually hardback editions.

As this could well be the only autobiography from the former Japan musicians I, for one, am happy to invest in it and I hope Mick does well out of it.
