Greetings!

Well, it seems like your (far too) long waiting has paid off! (Which I do apologize again for.) ... There are now over double the new videos on the video player! ... After 48 hours of non-stop encoding, working, and tweaking 'round the clock, my faithful side-kick and I have not only added new videos, but a few new features as well:

1) Yes, your eyes do not deceive you--I have added two cool new banners at the top to replace the previous BORING ones.

2) You must now be a registered user to view the the video's page... Lurkers, you know what that means! (And while you're at it--do some posting!)

3) You may be wondering... What in the world citizen is that new thing at the bottom of the page?! (Unless you aren't logged in--But I will explain that momentarily.) That new section is to access thy Video Player. If you aren't logged in, you will NOT see it. When you log in, you can go to the Video Player directly from there, or you can click the button on top if you want to do it the old-fashioned way... Both ways will lead you to the Video Player eventually. (If logged in, of course.)

4) All videos are roughly in chronological order. (Newest at the top, oldest at the bottom.) If you find a flaw in my arrangement, do not hesitate to let me know and I will correct it at once!

5) All new videos (As of Sunday, February 25th, 2007) have been branded with an orange star to the left of the name (*).

6) Videos will never be this slowly updated again. After my trusty side-kick and I are nearly out of the woods as far as school/work bullcrap--I will make a very good effort to upload a new video at least once every week! (Which I may mark with a red star--But let's cross that bridge when we come to it!)

7) You may have noticed a few of the videos are lacking the ability to be played with Realplayer and/or Quicktime. Just to let everyone know... Boy Blunder and I are encoding the other formats as I type... Never fear!

Anyway... Check it out! I really hope you enjoy the new videos and all... And if you have any trouble logging in, viewing or whatnot... Let me know!

Thank you for the more vids - I hadn't even seen the TOTP of Quiet Life for some reason. I thought I had but I watched it and I hadn't.

The effort you go to to maintain this place really is appreciated.

I have seen it but one of the one's I really loved from Fowerpot's YouTube stache was the Italian live performance of Weathered Wall - I stole it from YouTube before it was taken down but my version is quite jumpy near the beginning which sucks....sooo sooo good.

I wouldn't want people to miss out seeing it.

Oh and I know you know and I know I am getting old but My New Career OGWT - I would kill to see it...I really really would.

I have a question about the photo gallery. Is it being worked on? I notice that things like "views" and "comments" have only the number but no longer the title, and the upload pic page is wacky (missing a bunch of stuff). Is it just me?

Hey Heart-

Yes you are exactly right! I am working on getting it back to normal... My sidekick and I set up the board differently so that anyone who was inactivated could not show up (like porno people) but that messed up the chatbox... So we got the chatbox up and running, but that messed up the photo gallery. Hopefully this will all be straightened out soon!

PS: Heart--While on the subject of the photo gallery I just want to take that time to THANK YOU for all of the wonderful pictures you have provided us over the months. Thanks so much for taking the time to scan them.... They are just amazing!

Ah, thanks for the update on the pic gallery. And many thanks for keeping an eye out for weirdos and getting them out of here - such a stupid and annoying thing, unfortunately that stuff happens.

My pleasure about the pics. I do plan on posting more, haven't really had the time and have some computer issues that need to be fixed. I meant to dig up old fanzines and get some of those pics up. Unfortunately, I happen to excel at procrastination, lol.

The new JapanSylvian.com Video Player V2 is now online. It is completely Flash driven so there is no need for plug-ins or multiple formats. Also, the viewing area is much larger and you now have a complete set of controls for pausing, skipping forward and backward through the video selections, volume control, etc.

The video player shows up kind of funky for me. The banner is flush left and the list of videos and the 'viewer' are far to the right, almost centered and I have to scroll over to see the viewer. I tested this both in FireFox and IE.

Interesting... what type of computer and software are you running? So far it's been tested on the PC running Windows XP with IE, Firefox and Google Chrome - and also Mac OSX 10.4 & 10.5 with Safari and Firefox. In all cases it was displaying correctly and should look like this:


If anyone else is having problems please list your system details here.

OK - I found the display problem that was causing the video player weirdness on certain systems.
