Got round to registering after snooping around for the last few months – I feel official now!!!
So, heres a bit about me....
Like many back in the good old 80's I only discovered Japan once Tin Drum was released, and quickly bought Quiet Life and Polaroids (couldn't get into the first 2 albums back then....) - I was about 14 I guess.
My over protective mother just about let me go to see Duran on the Rio tour - thanks to my friends Mum wearing her down!! Unfortunately, none of my friends were as potty over the Batts and co. as me so I couldn't persuade anyone to apply the same pressure for the Pioneers Tour. I still see it one of my biggest regrets that I never got to see the best band of the 80's live.
Kinda lost them all after that and went off into the land of Goth (the original - not the plastic goths we have now!!!)
I hadn't listened to any of my old stuff for sooooooooooooo long but during the xmas break from work I was filling up my new iPod I discovered all David's solo stuff on iTunes – hurrah!!!
Curiosity let me to wondering if the the Batts were still hot hot hot 26 years on (Oh..... Mr Jansen....Mr Jansen.....
), and my cyberspace journey of discovery led me to the Nightporter site and then here!!!
Having been through a bit of a rotten time at the end of last year, reading all your posts has not only filled in the 26 year gap in my knowledge (I'm so ashamed!
) but made made me laugh more than I have in ages.
So thank you so much – what great bunch of people (with excellent taste) you are!!!
