Those musical terms which you opted to use in your post are valid to what you were describing ---- polyphonic and contrapunctal melodies are indeed appropriate and accurate in the discussion of counterpoint. Don't doubt yourself and don't allow yourself to be intimidated.

Yes I looked it up on wiki too.

You are quite the presumptuous type if you're inferring that I didn't already have a working knowledge of those particular terms. I happen to have performed with string orchestras, big band swing orchestras and outlandish avant garde percussion ensembles performing compositions which seemed on so many occasions to be built on the very essence of counterpoint melodies and such. And on top of that I have also heard a pop star like Sting use some of the same terms we have been discussing so it is not as if this is some foreign element to music. I don't quite comprehend why you decided to attack anyone for using such terminology in the first place.

Firstly, I didn't attack anyone.

Secondly, I have a genuine question for you;

Do you take your handbag with you to concerts or do you leave it at home?

Ahhh... Where on earth did I put that smiley that's holding a sign that says 'off topic'? :roll:

'Wasn't I Joe' was a really cool song. I'd love to hear more stuff like that! But then again, I'm sure whatever he chooses to release will be surprising and refreshing.

Ah, now that tells me all I need to know about you --- the type to mock what you don't comprehend...so quick to label that which you don't understand as pretentious...so quick to consider intelligence and sophistication as an effeminate trait...it's almost a sort of reverse elitism that you wish to practice, is it not? Do you feel left out? Is that it? Go home little boy, and leave the real music talk to the grownups. Run along now. :)

Please do keep such comments coming more often. Let everyone read exactly what you're all about. I've been under the impression that I was the most unenlightened neanderthal around here, but now I am quite sure that I could no longer compete for that title. I'm rooting for you... It just seems so unfair that we are judged by comments alone, doesn't it?
I'll leave the remarks to you from now on. :-D

I think what is happening, God, is that Baht is finally 'coming out'.

God bless you Baht. Don't let anyone keep you down sunshine.

I have never had to actually resort to locking a topic before, and I hope I don't have to! Make peace or take your differences to private messaging or I'm lockin' it up.

So... Would anyone like to post anything pertaining to the topic?? Besides new music, I'd like to see any live shows that were recorded professionally (such as Blemish in Japan, Damage, etc) to be officially released by him... Maybe with a few interviews or extra tracks??

I'll second that, would love to see bonus material like interviews and extra tracks.

With the Trophies books no longer available, would be great to have all the lyrics (and poems) in one book, maybe each song illustrated with a photo taken by David.
