Yeah, that didn't make me happy...Caught me a bit off guard actually.
Thankfully, a lot of people do know my character and actually sent me some private messages of support.
Seems like there's always someone who has to say something cynical!
To be fair though, the guy did send me a private email that was apologetic...

Here are my initial impressions.
The book is roughly 9" by 11", and is similar in finish to a Tour brochure, as far as thickness of pages etc.
Cover - Love the colour scheme on the front, the contrast of the brown (finished like leather) and the the black and white photograph is very tasteful.
There is a foreward by Chris inside, giving some background to the influence music has played on him as a photographer, and the music of Sylvian in particular, and how he tries to capture the atmosphere from the music through his photography.
He spared us a picture of himself!
As anyone who has seen Chris' work in the past would expect, the photographs themself are beautiful.
The concert in Chicago taken during the Everything & Nothing Tour is covered first. All of these bar one are in black and white, and personally, I have always favoured the imagery of B&W over colour.
The finish of the pages is probably as close to the originals as you are going to get, without using photographic paper, and is quite breath taking.
It clearly helps when your subject matter is both handsome and photogenic, but that is not taking anything away from the quality of the images that Chris has managed to capture.
The concert in Conegliano, Italy during the World Is Everything Tour, is the second and last concert to be shot.
Once again the imagery is quite beautiful, and here we are treated to two colour photos, with the bulk being made up of the more atmospheric B&W's. Again the pictures themself are gorgeous and my words can not do them justice.
There are a total of 24 pictures, 12 from each concert, and the timing of the book to coincide with Sylvian's last tour (hopefully not) could not be better.
Would advise anyone with an interest of Sylvian to give serious though to purchasing this book, and at the very least putting on you list to Santa this year.
Excellent work Chris.

I'm creating a meditation space and I will prominently have poster images of david in it... along with my other gurus and avatars.
