Alsip is south and west of Chicago. The location of the Doubletree is on 127th Street South (12700 S), about 3 blocks west of Cicero Avenue. The event is on Sunday, from 9 to 3 pm, admission is $3. You can get in at 8 o'clock (early-bird admission) for $10 - not really worth it since most of the vendors are still setting up at that time. Lot of vinyl (LPs, 45s, picture discs) from all eras, the 80s are very well represented. The Japan LPs, 12 inch singles and some 45s (UK on the last two) are usually easy to find, and cheap.
Some paper goods are available, like magazines and tourbooks - I've seen a couple of Japan tourbooks in the past. A few vendors sell cds - usually hard to find or out-of-print stuff, and that tends to be mostly 80s and 90s artists, along with a lot of prog. I haven't noticed all that many bootlegs or radio show items, but then I don't pay much attention to that stuff. You do have to dig - some vendors are well organized so things are at least in alphabetical order (or by genre), and with others its find-what-you-can in box after box. Some vendors are willing to haggle over prices and most take cash only.
It's not a large gathering, I'd estimate about 25 to 30 vendors, but I've been pleasantly surprised with what I've found - I'm looking primarily for Duran, The Church, and Legendary Pink Dots items.
Hallucinating lucidity
