yeah it sucks that pell grants don't seem to go as far as they used to. My friend got her financial aid so messed up by a dumb advisor she ended up losing her grant money. Then the school told her she needed 3 more classes to graduate. She decided to move to CT. She was able to finish her degree with taking only one course. Can you believe that!

Yeah, my Pell grants were a Godsend when I went to college, but I can imagine they don't go very far these days, even with the adjustments for expenses etc over the years.

ok I also really hate pc's.... i just typed this message then accidently moved my keyboard, mistakingly hitting a key which proceeded to erase all i had just typed. See now on a mac you just go to edit undo and it fixes it but is there such a simple forthright method on a pc... NOOOOOOOO. I like to refer to pc as what they are "piece o' crap"=pc.

Anyway... what i was saying is i'm at work and should be busy busy busy... instead i'm bored. I have 45 minutes until I teach my next class. Which today will only last about 20 minutes if that. Nothing to do on the first day of class. UGH and my office ... the entire lab.... SMELLS SOOOOOOO BAD! I want to go home and take a shower cause i think i stink from it!!! EEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWW

HHHHHHHHEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPP MMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Did you try Cntl + z? That is the undo function on a PC. If it's typed in a web based program (like this one) Cntl Z doesn't always work, but the back button just might. Not always but sometimes it does. I know it's happened to me before and it SUCKS! Have fun with the new classes.

thanks for the tip progrl. I did try the back button and that didn't work. Oh well.... school will just have to buy me a mac LOL

So far the students are into the learning. I hope they stick with it and turn out to be a fun attentive happy bunch of students. Last semester i had a high drop rate cause they realize later on that photography is actually hard work. Ummmmm DAH! It is college if it were easy everyone who attended would have a 4.0 , be in phi theta kappa and on national dean's list. LOL

I want to know why no one has told the younger generation that everything worth having takes time, patience, hard work and diligence to be successful???????????? This whole instant have it now generation is really bringing the expectations in college settings down to a new low standard. It is a real shame.... getting a university degree should be something great to aspire to. It shouldn't be handed over for doing the bare minimum..... really really sad to see.

For photography, Yes I think they should!

There is your first lesson - like with school and getting your degree and everything else great in life, getting the perfect shot takes time and patience; hard work and diligence. If you have that you will be successful. I'd use other words, but yours just hold so much truth.

thanks for letting me rant... LOL.... I've been feeling fed up with the education system for quite some time now. For a western society our educational demands are fairly low compared to other countries. This is going to be the down fall of us.... I was told by another instructor today that online school's are now offering M.D. degrees. All disections are done virtually. Can you imagine what it will like for a doctor who has NEVER seen a human patient before???? OH MY GOD!!! Now that is the scariest thought on the planet!

As an instructor who teaches basic or foundation level courses. I try not to impede creativity too much. However, creativity with no concept of how to successfully complete the foundation leaves no room to grow. Once you can do the foundation strongly then you have so many more creative options because you now know what is truly possible... and can have repeatable results. Technically repeatability is very important. Doing something great once looks more like a "happy" accident then a purposeful well thought out plan. I know when I was learning I always worked within whatever the assignment was but used my own creative style within the parameters set for me. This enabled me to express myself and learn foundations as well. Learning is a slow patient driven process. Not an overnight success story. There is no such thing.
