Hey,

The only thing I've heard strange in 'Darkest Birds' is what sounds like a very piercing, high-pitched beep in the chorus. It's right in time and sounds like it was put in on purpose! ... I have asked other people and they haven't heard it. My parents hear it... Have you?

Yeah, I hear it - sounds like the a very high-end tone resembling the 'beep' of an answering machine - probably intentional - now it makes me think that the lines of the chorus are David leaving messages to...someone. There are similar but much lower tones like that during the verses.

Strange, because I am listening to that now, and did not experience the "pinging".
AGain, or you guys talking of downloaded versions or straight from the CD?
Or maybe I just am not playing it loudly enough through my headphones, I am at work after all, for it not to be an issue.

As Kera mentioned - I don't think it's a 'problem', it's just there. I'm listening at work through real player (hey - I go with what I have here), I ripped the CD to the hd.

Just now I was listening to it through itunes... But I imported the track from the CD. I also hear the beeping sound when I play the actual CD in the home stereo, and in the cars. In certain cars you can hear it a lot more! I hear it just as much when I play it through itunes, too.

OK, I guess the problem was I was listening for some kind of deafening high pitch!
It also doesn;t help that I am listening to it on headphones mean't for talking over a computer with, i.e with a mic, the whole track is a little 'dirty' on these.

Yes, but it's more noticeable in my car - you know I've always heard it now that you've pointed it out but never thought anything of it, just another sound on the song for me.

Keep dreaming - cos that's the only way you're team has a chance this year. Honestly it's the first preseason game. I doubt he'll see much action out there (well unless I get my hands on him. hehehe - I can dream too!)

I have heard this sound as well, and on certain playback systems it is like an ice pick to the eardrum. For example, on my wife's car system the track is unlistenable at high volume... the pitch literally hits the threshold of pain.

On my computer at work it really isn't that bad, unfortunately I do noot get to listen to much at home, so have no idea if the sounds are amplified there, but like heartofdavid said, to me it just sounds like any other sound effect on the track.

i can totally hear that beep... i swear it sends me to the moon everytime it goes off. I always forget it is coming. OYE
