Sorry, but I found it quite hilarious. Even in JAPAN's early days they were more serious than these guys (and the only reason I make that comparison is because I have heard alot of tripe about JAPAN's early work and how it is "laughable", I never thought that though...)

They aren't hair metal, far from it actually. Ya know, you don't have to have some musical epiphany with every band. The Dogs are some of the best drinking music ever, I don't drink but, if I did I would definetely be listening to the Dogs D'amour!
