Thanks for posting this! Do you have any idea how someone can order a copy of the exhibition book (any of the versions)? I checked the play-button website but it gave no information...

Greetings from the Dutch mountains

They only said the exhibition book will be available first at the venue from 22nd July, but haven't said if they would be available online or some other means.

Maybe you can contact eyesencia... at contact@eyesencia.com

Also here is the English of Spiral (the Tokyo venue). They may post more info on the exhibition soon.

Another article regarding the abandon/hope exhibits.
This also includes a few sample photographs taken by David for the exhibit.

Am making enquiries, but I don't yet have an answer on the book.

I was in contact with one of the organizers today who said they are finalizing the exhibition content right now. He will let me know what will be shown and/or available to purchase as soon as that's done.

It's likely signed prints of David's photographs will be between 1400 and 1800 USD depending on the size of the print.

The prints will come in two sizes - $1400 for the smaller size, $1800 for the larger size. Each print is one of three actually made, apparently.

There is also an exhibition book (which is actually two books!), which comes in three versions (the books are the same), with the most expensive version costing around $400, which includes two prints. This version comes in a ltd edition of 50, there are 5*2 different sets of prints. The prints are the same size as the books - and much smaller than the prints on sale.

Indeed. I would expect everyone who wrote to the address on the website would have received a response.
Did you buy one of the prints?

I haven't bought one of the prints but have bought the limited catalogue. I may still buy a print yet.

Images of the exhibition in Tokyo now on David's Facebook page.

https://www.facebook.com/DavidSylvianOfficial?fref=ts

Framed prints are ¥120,000 for the smaller works (approximately A3 size), and ¥170,000 for the larger ones (approximately A2 size).

The book is beautiful too, picked up one with the "play button". ¥7,400.
The book is a 2-volume set, one volume is "Abandon" (which features the Tokyo works), and the other is "Hope" (the Uno works).
The play button is like a round pin-on badge with an image of David's photograph "Ice Storm" and it has an mp3 player embedded inside, the music is Taylor Deupree's "Reflections on an Inland Sea". It comes with a USB connector.
Photos later.

catalogue

Postby angel-a on Mon Jul 29, 2013 2:18 am

My friend who went to the exhibition opening party was told by eyesencia that they would not send the catalogue to out-of-Japan areas, unlike the previous Polaroid exhibition in Tokyo. But it seems that there are demands from other countries. So, I assume you need to contact them and negotiate in order to change their minds. Good luck!
