Listening to the best of 'Classix Noveaux' at the moment, was wondering if anyone remembers them from the early eighties,
they had a decent hit with ' Is it a dream' , but thats about it in terms of major exposure. They did 3 albums altogether all fairly good and quite rare now.

They were connected to Japan, one of the members Jack Stafford AKA Jak Airport was a close friend of the band who went to school with them. Jack was the only audience member at one of the group's early gigs according to Mick Karn's book.

Any influence there do you think? elements of the 'classix' music is reminisant of the Japan period 79-80' heavy bass deep rich vocal, haunting keyboards ect, listen to Never,Never comes , to see what i mean

I don't know about influence from Japan or vice-versa, it's possible. Fair to say that they liked a lot of the same music so that was bound to come out somehow.

Classix Nouveaux was the first non-Finnish band I saw live. That was November 1982. I saw them again on stage next summer. Classix Nouveaux was my biggest favourite back then... and then I found a band called Japan.
