Wonderful.

Hmm not sure about that, some of it sounds ok, but I think I would rather have the original... although that has been tainted by having it rammed down your throat as 'holding music' while waiting for some company/utility/service to answer their bloody phone

Anyway just listening to...

He Named Me Malala (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Thomas Newman ... love it!

Just came back from the Netherlands - where I obviously visited Plato, one of the best record shops around... and picked up:
- House of Love, ltd edition pink 7" vinyl "A Baby Got Back on its Feet"
- Gary Numan, ltd edition green vinyl "Telekon"
- Roosbeef vinyl "Kalf"
- Elliot Moss, ltd edition clear vinyl "High Speed"

There is something abnormally enticing to buying a bunch of records and having to wait several days before you can play them!

In which city did you visit Plato? Or were you in Amsterdam's Concerto, which is connected to Plato?

Hi Quiet Visitor,

I was in Leiden, which has a Plato located in a small alley just off one of the main streets. Whenever I`m there I always come out with a bunch of items - including their "No Risk Disc" - a CD which is on offer for one week with a "If you do not like it, return it" guarantee. That gimmick has introduced me to some wonderful music I would never have listened to in my life!

Greetings from the Dutch mountains,
Sven

Just received my copies of "The Surveillance Lounge" by Nurse With Wound. A fantastic double album! A real return to their old form! Limited to just 800 copies on vinyl (400 on black vinyl, 400 on white vinyl). It has received some great reviews.

Check out nursewithwound.co.uk!

Blackstar by David Bowie

I've never bought anything by Bowie, but after hearing this once I had to have it... I hope the album continues in this vein, as its simply stunning!...

I believe I've neared the point of "overdosing" on BLACKSTAR - which is just an excellent swan song...I've always appreciated Bowie much more while he refrained from riff rock.
... now listening to Charles Lloyd & The Marvels 'I Long To See You' - featuring Bill Frisell on guitar.

A New Year and the search for some new sounds.... I'm a huge fan of, and one time -single- concert promoter for Show of Hands, who are one of the this countries finest folk music acts, and they have a rather wonderful new album out [THE LONG WAY HOME].... but, in looking at some of Amazon's recommended list from them I came across a great duo called 'Gilmore and Roberts' who weave folk style songs and themes with contemporary sounds, and their album 'Conflict Tourism' is simply stunning.... I've had this album on repeat for the past few days, with little desire to listen to much else....... even ★ which I find quite upsetting to play at the moment.

Sakamoto - The Revenant OST. After seeing this amazing piece of cinema I had to have the soundtrack, which was beautifully understated... esp. given the viseral nature of the film.

ENO - The Ship

I must admit I would have preferred instrumental content but this is still an interesting release nonetheless
