It's something I've wanted to read for a very long time! Though I've finally gotten some free time. I really like it so far.

"Black Swan Green" by David Mitchell, the guy who wrote "Cloud Atlas." A blurb describes it as "....an English "Catcher in the Rye"...". I never liked Salinger's book but this one is very good, about a 13 year old boy and his world in a small English town in 1982. Reads almost like a diary, lots of interesting musical mentions (Duran, Roxy Music, Talking Heads, ELO, etc.).

That's cool.

I'm reading a lot of Greek Mythology right now to prepare my I Iconography exam [the last one, at least!!]. So i'm reading extracts of Ovidius' The Metamorphoses, The Theogony of Hesiod and Homer's Iliad and Oddyssey. I'm having a lot of fun, actually, though I've already read two of them.

I finished 'Werther' last night. Just loved it.

I love The Odyssey! It's been a long time since I've read it, though. I don't know if I've ever read The Iliad but I need to read it soon.

Who wrote that one? Sounds awfully familiar. I haven't read a good murder mystery in a long time, but I've read a ton of Mary Higgins Clark.

I'm reading three books at the same time right now. I'd stop but I always keep them straight so no problems there. Alongside Dorian Grey, I'm reading some Charles Dickens- Oliver Twist and A Tale of Two Cities.

The Iliad is great, though the writting style is very different from Odyssey. I know most of philologists think they were written by two different authors actually.

I'm half way through the Dalai Lama's "An Open Heart:Practicing Compassion in Everyday Life"

Been a bit too tired lately to read as quickly as I normally do....

langley...not quite the centre of the universe.

Yes, it is, indeed, that small village near Slough. It's a small world isn't it. Why were you pirate DJ-ing in Langley - have you a connection with the place? The Harrow Market is still there!

I'm afraid i'm not your female friend though as I am actually a bloke (see photo in gallery, although the makeup at the time might suggest otherwise!!)

Got to sign off to go home now but will look for your reply in the morning...
