Absolutely----I think so too. I find him to be such a nice person---so far in what I have read-----seems to have cultivated a sense of caring for people and fondness of the family members that actually helped him along. Despite the things he had to endure in his younger years, he made some interesting and wise decisions early on about drinking, etc.

Would love to contact him with feedback and comments after I finish reading this book---not sure how to go about that though.

I'm reading Yukio Mishima's 'Spring snow' and it's just wonderful.

I've read another books by him and I really recommend them all to you. His vision of the post Meiji era is just great...decadent, poetic and tragic. Like I said, just wonderful.

The Interpretation Of Murder by Jed Rubenfeld.

It won The Richard & Judy's Book Club Award at the 2007 British Book Awards but I'm not that impressed with it.

Finished "Grotesque" by Natsuo Kirino yesterday - I prefer her style of writing to either Ryu or Haruki Murakami - very dark.

Started "Be Near Me" by Andrew O'Hagan.

*revives*

Paul M. Sammon's "Future Noir - The Making of BLADE RUNNER". After buying the 5-disk Collector's Edition box I'm obsessing over the movie again and trying to read up on the books written about it. "Future Noir" certainly is informative, lots of behind-the-scenes stuff, but it gets a bit tedious near the end (I'm not that interested in every little detail where the 5 versions of the movie differ), but I've sworn to read all of it, even the Appendices.
