Yesterday my best friend and I were chatting in my kitchen and suddenly she looks at my Adolescent Sex poster and says "Is that a girl next to the one in the middle?"

"No, it's David Sylvian's brother Steve."

"Oh. He looks like a total girl though."

"Yes - and that's what I love about them."

"So, what happened to the Vin Diesel poster you had there last year?"

"Well, bald action stars may come and go, but Japan are my one true love and always will be..."

"Oh............you are such a freak."

"Bite me."

Huzzah for androgyny. :-D I've never really liked the muscular and beefy type, I get a lot of guff for that, ha ha. So of course the first time I saw a picture of David, I was in love (well, I was familiar with Duran before Japan, so I thought David was Nick Rhodes  ). I always have to pretend to like the beefy guys around my friends, especially in front of one in particular who always liked showing me pictures of a shirtless Christian Bale. ("Isn't he hot?" "Er... sure, whatever you say.") 8)

I have always had an interesting taste in men, from a little girl to now. I also remember my dad always saying something derogatory about beefy guys, which I know is very stereotypical, but I think my dad just wanted me to be with someone who had a head between his shoulders and was good to me, it didn't really matter what he looked like. Of course my boyfriends never really stacked up to my "idols" in the looks dept, except for a couple in my college years and a couple in the 90's.

I don't know---I guess I was attracted to each one for different reasons. Not really a common denominator amongst them, other than being male of course--lol.

Know what you mean - having said that though I went out with a guy for 8 years who liked dressing in an effeminate way and was an original new romantic - shame he was a git, he didnt half look good. :D

Just seen a girl in the street who looked like early Steve, all skinny legs and floppy dark hair. Blurred androgynous boundaries. We love em. :D
