Just seen news of this...includes a red vinyl single of European Son / Suburban Berlin. Must admit that am amazed that DS willing to talk about OA - maybe less so QL, as that was the first album he really recognises. Should be very interesting.

From the web blurb...

We’re all over Japan for the next issue of Electronic Sound, with our focus on the ‘Obscure Alternatives’ and ‘Quiet Life’ albums, issued in 1978 and 1979 respectively, and the group’s transformation from glam rock outsiders to smart synthpop superstars. Our cover feature explores this fascinating and often fractious period of the band’s story in detail and includes contributions from all four surviving members – David Sylvian, Richard Barbieri, Rob Dean and Steve Jansen.

Thanks for the information. Although I usually don't buy this kind of magazines, it'll be a nice addition to my collection.

I received the magazine today. Just had a quick look and where did the article end with? "Quiet Life" is being re-released as a deluxe edition by BMG in January.

Looks like the vinyl-bundle is out of stock already.

The step between OA and QL was of course the adventure with Giorgio Moroder. There's where David steps in.

Apart from the 9 page interview (including 4 pages of pictures and 2 pages of the introduction, which has just a few words and the word JAPAN in big red letters) the magazine also includes one page that goes a little deeper into the two songs from the single.

As for the deluxe edition of Quiet Life: I presume it will be something like the 3-LP version by Music On Vinyl from a couple of years ago. A 5.1 mix would be cool though.
