What David singing style do you like?

I can't choose

I like vocals of David on Adolescent Sex and Quiet Life, than vocals on Tin Drum.

it was an easy choice... definitely quiet life onwards.... definite control and depth to his vocals starting then... the MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM factor!!!!

I've chosen the second one, even though his vocals on Adolescent Sex are really fantastic.

I must say for me was a simple chioce I love smooth sylvian voice better, besides the other one was ruin his vocal chords in so many levels. I love hen Sylvian sings in a soft nice way

I think the vocals on the 'Gone To Earth' album are perfection indeed.....

....and back to the point in topic, my choice is the latter, after 'Quiet Life' and beyond. The vocals on the first 2 albums are 'forced' and not really my cup-of-tea............

This poll is kind of wrong seeing as how there's many singing "styles" Sylvian has use throughout his career.

From the snarl of Adolescent Sex and Obscure Alternatives, to the deep and mature croon of Blemish, the man's voice
has been generally different in each of this albums.

Personally, I love the style he uses on Brilliant Trees, a cross between his voice in Tin Drum to his later records.

Yeah:) But I think they chose those styles because this is for Sylvian in his Japan years

As David has got older his voice has matured and the power and depth he has now is beyond compare for me, i cried listening to SBS, it was truly beautiful and his voice touched me on an emotional level. He always had an amazing and distinctive voice but its getting better every record and hopefully there are tons more albums to come !

That's exactly how I feel, couldn't have put it better - whilst I adore all the Japan material (mostly 1980 onwards I admit) and most of his solo work I think his voice continues to evolve with time/age and has never been more beautiful and unique.

I chose Quiet Life onwards, just because I listen to Japan's later work more than earlier.
