Oh if only he were that tiny....I could put him my pocket .... My very own pocket pal :-)

David Sylvian- now in pocket size! :-D

mmm they didn't look very tall to me in pictures... I don't know what size is that exactly in cms, but I think I can imagine it aproximately.

Hmm, Poisoned Apathy, 5'8" is something like 173cm, if that helps any.

Steady there girl!

Incidentally, what Art of Parties SHOULD have done was tie his shoelaces together...so when he tried to walk offstage...

oh no, that's cruel isnt it?!! but funny though...

AGH! Kinki, that is so mean! He might have fallen and broken his beautiful nose! Not to mention he would have hated touring a lot more then he already did!

... But if he had just stumbled it may have been funny. :-)

At that time i had trouble tying my own laces let alone Mr Sylvians, just to clear up any ambiguity about my original intentions, i did not intend to undo his laces , simply touch the famous mans white shoes, it was as he walked away i noticed what an horrific deed i had done.

I am still ashamed even now and have never done it since!

Aww- AOP It's perfectly fine if you didn't do it on purpose! Don't feel bad- Besides- It's Kinki up there who wants to tie his shoelaces together!! :-)

Alas I've never seen any of them live but will be getting my booty into gear if Nine Horses tours....

Me too!

I'm with Kinki here...as soon as that time machine gets cranked up, I am going to zip back and see the Japan concerts I was never able to see back in the day. You see, I lived in Michigan when I first became a fan and they never came there...I have never lived in the right place at the right time, it seems. :(

However, I did see Rob Dean twice, once with Vivabeat in '83 and once with Gary Numan the following year. The first time we met him, he was very nice and a bit quiet -- he signed my copy of Rock Show and I seem to recall asking him a few questions about Japan and his leaving, etc -- too bad I can't remember now what he said, but he did seem to be okay about it all, or maybe it was all water under the bridge by then?

The next year when we met him again, it was so much fun -- he ended up drinking with us after the show and I really don't recall much as a result, except that there was a lot of laughing and he was very congenial and festive company. :) I really wish now that I could remember what was said (I do remember he was drinking White Russians if anyone cares :-) ) that night. I have a sick feeling I may have drunkenly pestered him for info re: Steve but hey, I was young and goofy -- and had probably had one too many vodka tonics. :)

Thanks! From what I am able to remember, it really was a fun night, and Rob fit right in with our merry little group. :) I hope he enjoyed being part of our alcohol-infused festivities that evening!

But because I am greedy, I still wish I could have seen Japan as a unit in concert. However, I hope to be able to see Messrs. Sylvian, Jansen, Karn and Barbieri in their respective projects at some point. :-)

I guess this was one time when I actually was living in the right place, at the right time (the Detroit area). :-) I'm grateful that we had the chance to have this experience -- I am just hoping that I begin to remember more as time continues to pass and more brain cells regenerate! :)
