Talk about anything Japan-related.

having been a massive YES massive japan fan, how come that also being a massive 80's fan i can run the number of concerts i have seen in the past 2 yrs of re-formed tours
Human League, Heaven 17, Tears For Fears, OMD
and i'm not including the 80's retro stuff in glasgow, strahclyde park and ayr festivals.(40 mins of music is not a concert miming to backing tracks).
and now this year Depeche Mode, ABC, Spandau Ballet, Ultravox.
what about JAPAN doing Tin Drum or Quiet Life tour? :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

It would be sad and pathetic, like every other reunion.

So no, and I'm glad to know the guys have more respect for their careers and their music than to do some horrible reunion tour for money.

Japan had already done a Quiet Life tour and a Tin Drum tour....back in the late seventies and early eighties when those releases were current product.
Why would Sylvian wish to negate the musical progress he has achieved throughout his career?
He has an extremely experimental and highly anticipated release which is forthcoming and we fans should know by now that he focuses on the present. Many of us choose to respect that decision and actually appreciate him all the more for keeping current in respect to his creativity.

I really wouldn't mind to see them as Japan again, I would love it! :D I could pay a lot to see them perform together again. :P

I am 99.9% sure this will never happen. I do think Sylvian may, someday, finally be open to doing something collaboratively with either Mick or Richard, invite them into new 9 Horses material or solo stuff, but my guess is that this would be limited, and would sound nothing like "classic" Japan.

Agreed 100%.

Those Japan days have run their course now and are in the memory vaults.

As much as I was gutted when they split in '82 and hoped it was only temporary at the time, I can see no point in reforming now when all the band members have moved on in their musical careers.....

I agree with Natsume that some kind of collaboration with the ex members ala Dreams of Reason is as near to a Japan reformation as we will get..thank god!

I'm still wishing David come to this side of world....
then imagine a Japan reunion is more impossible to me....
I wish David come some day to Chile and play his songs and some Japan songs for his fans that loves him so much...
but like a dream....would be amazing to see them playing together again...

No, I agree, it would be a little sad. I find it hard enough to watch Spandau Ballet as they are now, and I'm not even that crazy about their music.

Have u already forgotten what happened during 'Rain Tree Crow' recording?? Everything ended as a cooperative disaster, most of guys left before everything was quite finished, leaving David to mix up everything on his own.
Now just imagine what would have happen 18 years later, when they are all middle aged men with lots of on their shoulders and minds....
No I'm positive this would never work, not in a million years.
Just touring, without some new project would be rather pointless I believe.

I should say no but I know I would love it if they reformed, even if it was only for a short period of time

No. But what I can imagine is them having a completely different take on some very worthwhile material. Just seeing them work in the same circles again would bring a smile to my face. Did any of you happen to catch any of the Roxy Music reunion shows. They actually pulled it off quite nicely. No leopard skin suits at all.

Wouldn't it be fitting for David to give Mick a call right about now? Even if just to say hello and... what can I do to make things right?
