What would it be?
I'm really interested in this, as I'm young and wasn't around in the days of when Japan/Duran were young.
But here we go:

I would want to go back to 1978, I'd wanna be 17 and live in Birmingham.
I'd practially live in the Rum Runner and befriend Lebon, Rhodes and John Taylor before they became mega stars.
Hopfully ending up marrying one of them and changing history

I would have loved to be in my late teens in the new romantic era of the blitz kids. No doubt about it i would have moved to London and attended the blitz club.

I agree, 19 years old, 1978/79, Birmingham, England at the Rum Runner, would love to see those first years of DD or mybe more

I was born in 1982, but it would have been cool to have lived in the late 1970s to see the whole New Romantic thing start. It would have been interesting to see Duran Duran and Japan start getting famous. So I think I would have liked to be about 20 years old around 1978.

I know people have mentioned things similar to that, but it was really the first thing I thought of when I saw the topic suzannahsylvian posted here... I guess we all have that wish of travelling back in time.

I did live in that time, I was 18 in 1982 when I saw Japan live and guess what? .... I WANT TO GO BACK . I really wish someone would invent a time machine (sigh).

I didnt get into Japan until '84 but i used to try and imitate David, make up and everything. My dad had a nickname for me "Max" as in short for "Max Factor" !

Plus if you were 20 in 78/79 that means you would be fifty by now. And not that many fifty year olds look that good..........

Excuse me cheeky I'm actually 44, ok, ok, 45 in June but have been told that I look about 38 ....ish by very very kind friends who obviously want some favour or other

When I was a youngster, many moons ago in 1978-1980 my dearest, departed Dad used to refer to me as the "bride of Dracula" - something I now regard as hilarious but at the time thought was an insult from someone who didn't appreciate my attempt at individuality.

Besides age is immaterial. My dad is sixty and i can hardly hold a conversation with him. He has in my eyes always been sixty. But i am friends with a sixty year who birthday is on the same day as my dads who is the total opposite. To me him and my dad are poles apart, its down to attitude. I get tons of grief cos i love german techno. People say to me i should act my age. Its not about age, its about love.
