It would appear that Sylvian is still very collectable judging by this

My favourite Polaroids from this session is:
Angus McBean, West Wycombe (it's not in the book but on one of the big postcards that was at the exhibition)
Chapelle St Blaise des Simples Milly-La-Forêt 11 Oct 83 (taken on my 24th birthday)
Yuka Kyoto Dec 83
Piano Room 83
I guess I would pay more than 4300 for any of these...

I am watching this auction with great interest also. Especially as I own one of these pieces, purely for my collection purposes.

maybe you've mentioned it before Tulipmania but tell us again.
What's the title of the one you have? Did you buy it at the Hamiltons Gallery at the time of the exhibition?
Let us know the story...

Yes, I bought it at the Hamiltons gallery exhibition. I also have a signed copy of the UK Perspectives book.

The piece is entitled "Yuka, Avoriaz '83"

I have it in a private gallery beside my house where I keep other artworks. DS is obviously a favourite artist of mine but I also have more traditional artworks.

I suppose I should get it's insured value upped now. I didnt realise they were this valuable.

No, I dont know what I paid at the time. It seems a lifetime away for me. I dont have the gallery price list. Theres some detailed info and photos about Perspectives on the www.davidsylvian.net website.

I bought the book in London when it came out,
and I managed to get some of the large "postcards",
the Japanese edition i bought recently,
but I never seen the original price list.

The original price was £295.

That's equivalent to £785 in current money.

Quite a nice return!

Based on that the Glowing Enigma polaroids are roughly the same price! At least there is consistency in the pricing strategy!
