Duran Duran related/Andy Taylor

For those of you who are duran fans but more importantly Andy Taylor fans. Andy has created a message regarding his "leaving" Duran Duran. It is on the front page of his website www.beyondthunder.com.
Check it out as it is a really good insight into his real reasons for stepping aside without slamming or bad mouthing any other member of the group. It is just a shame the rest of Duran can't say the same thing.

I don't think they have slammed each other really. I think that lots of feelings were in the surface and things exploded. Andy wasn't happy in the band and the others weren't happy with his behaviour. *shrugs* I'm not sure that we will ever know the real thruth, just like in 1986.

Anyway, I'm glad that Andy is happier now and that the Durans are still going on. At least I got to see them play all 5.

yes BT is the official andy taylor website .... Andy views it as such. I am friends with the people who run it. They do give andy his space... as he tends to be a bit easy to ruffle feathers with.

There was one interview with John which i read where he did slam andy... totally unnecessary and made me lose a bit of liking for john.

I agree we'll never know the complete truth.... but andy's statement does give his side of things which has been much speculated about.

I too am happy i was able to see the "original" line up on the reunion tour. It was a good time to hear all the oldies and the new works they did together.

I know what you mean, though I don't think that John slammed Andy in that interview (I think I know which one). Still, like I said, what's important for me is that we keep getting music from both sides and that they both seem to be more comfy with the current situation.

I for one felt real sad seeing Andy go. I'm glad to have him living so near me too! I still remember my US shows, aka the Andy leg of the tour, in which we got all tix randomly in his side and we made banners for him. Nice memories out of those gigs!

Don't think I am taking sides, because I don't want to (even me being a John gal). I just can't judge because I guess there's a lot in both sides of the story.

yeah if you've gone to his studios myspace page the tunes have a wide range of musical styles.... I'm glad he is happy and has his priorities correct. We all have one life and it is important for us to follow our own paths

*g* Thanks! John has always been my fave, I always had a thing for bass players I guess! And yeah, he still looks amazing! And Nick is just so witty and so kind! If there's one that is super nice with the fans is Nick! I've seen him signing autographs in the middle of a road and being almost ran over by a car. That man is amazing!
