OK, silly question...

Official releases, promos, bootlegs and memorabilia.

OK, silly question...

....we've all got video of some sort and the quality ranges from awful to passable...

SOMEWHERE, surely there are master copies of all vids in pristine condition...If so I really REALLY hope someone someday gets all these together and releases a DVD that would REALLY be worth buying....

Pie in the sky, I know.... :D

Thirded!

Someone should climb to the top of Mt. Everest and shout it for the world to hear. I dream of a time when Japan and David Sylvian get the respect they deserve!

I think they will get the recognition they deserve. As time goes on I think more and more people are realising just how influential and good they were....

I reckon in about 10 years' time there will be a serious book on their achievements and accompanying high quality DVD.

Here's hoping... :D

Well yes, and being the eternal optimist that I am I really can see it happening...

I think we are getting to the stage where sufficient time has passed since they split up for a fair chunk of musical history to have occurred, therefore affording the critics to see how Japan's influence has shaped music over the past 25 years or so...

*sigh* OK, I'm game. If someone finds me all the masters, I'll happily package up a DVD - maybe a 2 disc set, maybe a series of 2 disc sets?

Like 1 official disc remastered and the second one with rare footage, interviews, appearances, photo gallaries, etc. Some killer art work and full colour booklet.... :smt023

That'd be amazing!

*starts saving for it now*

God that would be so so so fantastic. I would gladly spend extremely silly amounts of money on it....

What about that commercial mentioned on nightporter.co.uk when David appears with superimposed breasts and that Napier-Bell only owns? :-D

Oh, they actually asked Simon that question I believe in an interview on the Nightporter website. Go find it in the interviews section, it's worth a look.
