Susanne Sundfør's new LP - Music For People In Trouble

A bit of a mixed bag, with a couple of oddly terrible tracks... I think the track below is my favorite 'Mountaineers' That moment when her vocal comes in against John Grant's makes the hairs stand.

björk Utopia .... Amazing LP!!!!......

I need to give it more time, but this may well be a 9/10 ... at the very least a 8, but, maybe even a 'full house' 10 :smt007

After a week of repeated listens I really think this is her masterpiece... just like Manafon is David's :D

It's not perfect, but I love the birds, the flutes and the complex, muddled, melodies and the vocal work... it's very powerful, and full of emotion. It's also dividing opinion, like all the best artist do.... my only issues are with the sometimes clunky lyrics..... and, that bloody awful cover image

9.5/10

First Aid Kit - The Lion's Roar LP ... I heard the track Wolf from FAK on BBC6 Music a couple of weeks back, which I loved; so I bought the album and I think its pretty amazing. I'm not a country music fan in the slightest, but there is something about these two young Swedish girls that makes their take on it so compelling. Their new LP Ruins sounds very good too.

Recently bought NIMB No.9 by Toshimaru Nakamura. Has to be one of his most accessible recordings - fantastically rhythmic. Mixer feedback does pop almost. If you've enjoyed DS's wilder pastures, this is well worth exploring.

I went to a performance by this man last night Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, i would use the words fiddle player to very loosely to describe him. It was a very very good evening. He is also part of this band, Ri Rua who i enjoy. Here is one of their songs, This is how we fly, Ri Rua
