Peter Murphy has posted a video on Facebook where he talks about recording new material with Mick for a second Dalis Car album :D

Interesting, specially after what Mick wrote about the project in his book...

Got to agree with you Sisterlondon I seem to remember Karn really disliked Pete Murphy (and his girlfriend), maybe time has healed old wounds and of course nowadays you don't even have to be in the same country nevermind studio to collaborate on a project, I hope Mick gets well enough for this idea to come to fruition

I re-read the chapter on Dalis Car in Mick's book, and far from being negative, Mick in fact praises Peter Murphy's work while saying that the project didn't work out because he (Karn) was being too controlling and not allowing his partner enough input. In fact Mick apologises twice for the way he was behaving at the time, compliments Pete Murphy and in the final line wishes him well.

So, whatever each has said in the past, clearly both have moved on and can now work together again. I hope that the new recordings are a satisfying endeavour for Mick and aid his recovery - also perhaps allowing him the opportunity to earn from his music again.

Wow! This is a pleasant surprise! I can't wait to hear what this will be like. The original Dali's Car album is one of my favorites.

From Mick's site, some confirmation of this:

Mick plans to work with Peter Murphy on a follow up to Dalis Car 'The Waking Hour' album. Work begins towards the end of September.

:D

Really good news, both in terms of Dali's Car - that first album is brilliant and for me the best non-Japan thing Mick has done - and more importantly as a very encouraging sign with respect to Mick's health.

In complete agreement on that. I think it's great that in spite of his health concerns and the accompanying issues affecting his life, he is looking ahead and making plans to continue creating music. Bless him and wish him the best on all counts.

Never rated Peter Murphy - tried Bauhaus / and the few solo cd's ,
but no - never really made the grade.

I have to disagree - amongst the genre, Bauhaus and Pete Murphy are class leaders and legends.
Murphy and Karn are an absolute delight together and I think it's great that this project is in the realms of possibility.

Peter Murphy has posted on Facebook today that they begin work on the album next week and mentions that original drummer Paul Lawford is involved.
