SylvianDarling - Why indeed. The eternal question. Totally unanswerable. I know what you mean tho .... xxxx.

Ellyn Sylvian - Good news that you were diagnosed early and treatment commenced. I hope you make a full recovery. Take care. xxxx.

Neonico - What are you trying to do to yourself? Why are you eating that awful remedy? You'll get sick y'know ... xxxx.

Proggrl - Well said: Get regular check ups. If you feel even slightly unwell GET YE TO A DOCTOR!!!

And now ...
Am I going crazy or what? I am sure there was a post on David's news page about Micks Appeal. But when I checked in today there was no mention of Mick anywhere. What's going on?????

I haven't seen anything on David's official site but Gerritt has posted about the appeal on his Twitter and on davidsylvian.net

Good news that Steve will donate the cost of ANY of his photos now, not just the ones of Mick, as long as the buyer says they want the money to do to Mick's appeal.

Have just received word of a very generous donation of an item for sale - details going on nightporter.co.uk and Mick's site ASAP :D

I'm new to this site and haven't even introduced myself yet. I never dreamt that my first post would be related to such a sad sad sad event. I first read the news about Mick on this site soon after Missouriman and Karnsculpture posted it. It took 10 minutes or more for it to sink in, I was so shocked, I shed some tears and couldn't find words to post a reply. I'm still numb and short of what to say. My family and I are all praying for him. Our wishes for Mick and his family are for strength, faith and to never loose hope. Mick brightened so many people lives with his many talents and now he and his loved ones are in our thoughts every single day. God bless you, love.

The only thing on the samadhi site about Micks illness is on the steve jansen page where he mentions the photo auction proceeds. It would be good to hear some kind words from Sylvian towards Mick at a time like this when his old friend is so ill.I know a lot of water has travelled under that particular bridge in the past years but at times like this you realise how futile most of it was.

I was very lucky, I was diagnosed extremely early - no help from a useless GP, yelling and swearing worked though. I got the tests done that I wanted, - now I have to be regularly screened, but it is all good. It also made me appreciate life more. I have made what they call a 'full recovery'.

If I can pass any wisdom to others regarding my case, - you know your body better than anyone else EVER will. If you believe something is wrong, don't take one doctors word for it, - get a second opinion, bypass them completely and go to a specialist. It might seem like an expensive option, the specialist, but ask yourself ' how much is your life worth?'

I hope Mick didn't put off seeking help sooner.

Much has been made about the lack of information regarding Mick on David's site. As harsh as it sounds, David doesn't have to put anything on his site. I would like to think that behind the scenes somehow that he is involved with something, events like this tend to knock everyone concerned around, and previous issues don't seem as important as they once did.

Well said...why should David feel pressurised into putting something on website? I can't understand all this unfair criticism towards David because he chosen to not publically announce his concern for Mick. Why would/should he? They haven't spoken for years. Their relationship is something that no-one will understand. It's between the two of them, not us. If David chooses to not support Mick through this, I have no problems with that. They have both moved on from each other.
