Strange message about posting...

Postby anortherncod on Sun Sep 14, 2008 10:10 am

I just made a post and got the message: "You cannot post so soon after your last post. Please try again in a short while." I went back to the index and my post was actually there. But that seems strange. Could it be that I inadvertently double-clicked and that that feature is to help reduce duplicate postings...? I'm using my laptop atm and as we all know sometimes it's easier to double-click with a touchpad...

Hi N!

Don't fret! This has happened to me on more than one occasion and I too was a little perplexed by it. I'm not sure if it does prevent double-postings as I seem to have done that in my time here too! Anyway no harm has been done so I wouldn't get too concerned about it. Intriguing though ..

That's because you probably guessed that if anyone was going to do something daft like double click when making a post it would be yours truly ...

Yep! That's exactly what it is. Even if you don't double click it, or click it twice within 30 seconds or so, it can process them both at the same time. Chances are if you wait a moment and try again it should work just fine.

Apologies if it's an inconvenience!
