Just Mr Sylvian?? I think you should look at Sister London's messages that she posted during David's tour and see what else she got up to. That's all I'm going to say. I still have a certain text messge from her sent to me very late on 17th Sept (well, very early 18th Sept to be precise). ;-)

Oh Really? I dread to think! Just who has sisterlondon been, erm, following? No, don't answer that Steerpike, I'm sure it was entirely innocent whatever it was she did?

Heee! Well, the Durans already received kind of that treatment ;) So yep, it was a great bd, one of my best ever! (also thanks to Miss Bridget that got me the best BD card ever! :D)

Steerpike, if you remember well I told my parents to go to the hotel but the preferred staying (probably because they didn't trust getting right to the hotel on their own! ) Awww, will pass the message to my parents. Thanks for caring, dad is doing fine now, but he gave us a fright. He needs lots of rest and sometimes we need to stop him from doing too much, but he's really better :D

Awww Isa, your birthday was wonderful, I actually felt like it was mine too :D I enjoyed every second of that day!

You know I remember another funny Japan thing, it's in this interview from 1982, on a bootleg, and one of the interviewers talks about this supermarket incident. That there was a lady who said to David: my god, you're the best David Sylvian look-a-like I've ever seen!
...or something like that..and he got away with it..

Postby Sylvian's Beard on Fri Apr 25, 2008 12:20 am

A funny poem that a friend wrote me, from our first meeting.

"It was an awkward day, lost in the city,
lost in a way I had no business being lost.
I met a pretty man, preaching the way of Japan,
and my confidence was further gone.
I didn’t know of the messiah you claimed,
nor the millions of prophets you spoke.
But with such conviction you continued—
and I kept nodding because I wished I knew."

From an issue of bamboo one of the funniest stories is about Mick. Rob is asked his funniest Japan memory and he says that Mick always did things at the wrong moment but one particular incident Japan were standing in the corridor at Air Studios and "Mick got two oboe reeds and stuck them in his mouth and was saying Rob Rob, it's the full moon". When he turned around Rory Gallagher was standing behind him!
