Reviews of Live Shows 2007 - WARNING: Spoilers!

Talk about anything David Sylvian related.

Oh and when we left a lady said to one of the guards (in response to her not being allowed to take pictures) that the person sitting next to her had videotaped the entire thing...

I was torn between thinking ooh thats a bit disrespectful and good at least there's a bootleg...

How awful of me huh.

Hey all!

I just wanted to make a little post and clear this up...

I recieved a message from Suzanne Barbieri earlier... She wanted to let us know that she and Mr. Barbieri did not leave after 'Ghosts'. They both had to step out for a moment, and so as not to disturb the show they took an alternate route back to their seats. She just wanted to clear up this misunderstanding because they both enjoyed the whole show very much. :)

Thanks...

-Kera-

Wouldn't Richard have been great on the tour? I love his synth sounds, but he was probably busy with Porkypine or one of his other projects. I actually bought some of Richards synth program patches for the Pro53 (a software version of the Prophet V synth which Richard uses - as did David up until relatively recently I think). Great starting point for developing your own sounds.

Ah - I really hope, if David tours again I can see it on a non-work night i.e. the summer vacation - that'd be lovely; a summer tour, cos I've been so over-tired the last four times!

Just got home and read a few comments. Thanks for the BD wishes people and also to the ones that made the day so great! :D

Will try to post the pics later, if anything can be saved!

No, he didn't leave! I talked to him after the gig and he was at the venue, so guess he just needed a visit to the loo or the bar ;)

tallulahtaurus wrote:I am a lil sad that I didn't wait behind now would've been nice to have gotten an autograph. How long were you waiting Isa or did time kinda blur and meld a bit too much for you to be sure.

Was lovely to meet you all that I met. :D

It was great meeting you all too! Such a fun time that we had!!! :D

And sadly we had to wait a lot! Around 2 hours! But we got encouraged by the fact that everyone was leaving through that door, Tim SBP (such a nice guy he is!), Keith (hope his food wasn't too cold when he ended talking to us! very cool guy!) and also even the Batt's parents (or that's what we thought!). In the end we were told they would leave stright to the tour bus by a nicer security guy and we went there and yep, there they were! David barely stopped with me, just for a sig, not a pic, but Steve was real patient and signed lots of things for everyone, even if the bus was wating for him!

BTW, the comments about why they aren't touring in the US got to them, as I mentioned that some tour books I got were for friends there and he said, "so probably your friends are angry that we aren't touring there" (that was said with the classic eyebrow from him, heeee!) We also chatted about his failed gig in February for Kinoapparatom (he signed my cd) and he said "Believe me, I was as much disappointed as you were for not going there".

What a nice nigt it was! Can't wait to repeat in Madrid! :D

Edit: the pics I took at the end of the gig are awful, like real bad. But there are 3 of Steve afterwards signing stuff that are good.

brussels

Drove back from Brussels about an hour ago.

Really good sell-out show, better than London. Great sound, great audience, Dave on good form.
No Waterfront or Nostalgia this time, but just a sublime performance.
Paid attention to pianist a bit more - he does some good stuff on Mother and Child and a couple of others. If Playground Martyrs doesn't make your eyes water then you need intensive care.

David as always incredibly gracious. Always thanking the wonderful audience - said we should all go on tour with him! Asked us about the sound quality (heard there were problems in Birmingham).

At the end much shaking of hands and a girl handed him a large sunflower. Beautiful.
What a wonderful show

Not angry, but disappointed. Perhaps David should release a new version of an old song - World Citizen (they will be disappointed) - to commemorate this tour.

Thanks Godsinthesilences!

Heart, now I am not sure if he said angry or annoyed... but you get the idea. I just meant to mention that he knows how the US fans feel and seems that he got news of how fans feel too.

I think that some of the guys, possibly even David himself, read this forum.

(This is also one of the reasons that I cringe when people take cheap shots at Yuka, etc...)

Well, given SilverMoon's post above, we definitely know that Suzanne Barbieri reads it!

I agree totally about the cheap shots.
