these guys are awesome. just saw them a few weeks ago at red rocks.

but that whole brooklyn scene is where its at. the strokes, lcd soundsystem, dirty projectors, grizzly bear, yeasayer, TV on the radio and sufjan stevens. I hear that david byrne & ryuichi are considering a move across the river.

Love me some Sufjan Stevens...my fave album by The National is Alligator. Since then, they have put out quite a few albums, but none have blown me away...Also, I don't care for the way they master their albums...very compressed sounding...bass is ridiculously loud and overall volume of the records are too loud. They need a more mellow approach...one that would allow some of the intricacies of the music to shine through...as it is, some tracks that could be great sound bombastic and flat to me. I do think they are a good band though....

Have you heard Old World Romance by Sea Wolf. Think you might like it if you like the National.

I haven't listened to The National yet, but read a review of an album by their guitarist Bryce Dessner with the Kronos Quartet, called Aheym. Remarkable collaboration!
