Violets flower in the autumn too. I have one on my office desk and, co-incidentally, I was asking one of my colleagues 'when does it flower?' And I was told, late autumn. So Ippu-do are correct!!!

actually violets flower all year round if in the right conditions. They are a annuals where i live but easily are perennials elsewhere. I have violets that have been blooming since this spring. Then of course there are african violets ... they have a glorious cycle of blooming the most wonderful sugary looking flowers then they go to sleep for a while.
