Jeff Beck's new release, "Emotion & Commotion"
There is plenty of 'emotion', though I really can't detect all that much 'commotion'.

Manafon.

(Does anybody undestand what is being said at the beginning of 'Small Metal Gods' before David Sylvian's vocals start? It's in japanese. E.T.?)

Darkest Dreaming - what a beautiful song. It gives me the goosebumps, but then again, Mr. Sylvian's voice has that affect on me!

i have been having been listening to quite a bit of some early simple minds albums this week,New Gold Dream and Sons and Fascination /Sister Feelings Call.Around that time them along with Japan (of course) and The Associates were probably my favourite bands, the bass of Derek Forbes on Big Sleep (New Gold Dream) is amazing and Love Song (Fascination) exhibits so much of what was great musically around that era.

By the way "Darkest Dreaming" is also one of my favourite songs by DS

Mr Forbes is brilliant on bass. Still got it if his videos on Youtube are anything to go by. I guess it is like riding a bike. You don't forget how to slap and pluck and groove. Shame his personal problems seem to get the better of him.

Lately I've been listening to 'Trio' by Paolo Jannacci, a lot of Radiodervish, and, a pleasant discovery for me, Final.

thats a nice story, do you still keep up with simple Minds, they sort of "lost their way " in the 90's and early 00's but came storming back with Black and White in 05, which is a superb album(same year as snow bourne sorrow, which was nice),really enjoy that album, also last year Grafetti Soul was released ,which is also good.Jim is about a year younger than david but these guys and the Japan boys are all around the same age still releasing good stuff into their 50's,shows you never lose it.
