4th November 1985

I have a shocking memory for remembering the most weird things....

But today, 4th November, marks the 22nd Anniversary of what some consider the best album that Duran Duran never made... So Red The Rose.

So put the CD on, and have a glass of the red stuff!!

Actually.... Arcadia, a solo endeavor with nick, simon and roger, created So Red the Rose. But i suppose it is close enough

Strange coincidence, I bought my first Duran Duran album ever today. Their self titled.

My comment was a paraphrase of a smart comment that a reviewer gave for the SRTR record back in 1985.

was it there first self titled or the one with the best of. For some reason they named two albums the same way....

Me too - still a great album. But Kayleigh wants to know why they are all wearing rugs. ;) hehe - Have to say tho, I really liked that look for them. Nick looks so goth!! :-D

I preferred the Power Station to Arcadia, though had both albums.

that's right.... it was the wedding album called duran duran... dah laura... LOL Well at least i knew they had to selftitled albums.

Just a side note... i hate the name of their new cd.

I remember when so red the rose was released. I made my mom take me to the record store here, it was called raging tiger records, the owner was a massive duran fan. She let me get the cassette right before she closed the shop on the day before it's official release date. WWOOO HOOOO I remember that night like it was yesterday.
I loved that cd so much. I also adored power station. Two amazing groups with such completely different sounds!

It amazes me that alot of people who praise Duran Duran so much, remain oblivious to Japan.

Not to knock their fans or anything. I think Duran Duran were a great group that wrote alot of really good pop tunes.
