WOW! What a Performance...WHITESNAKE!

Check this out! David Coverdale is up there with the greats...Plant, Gillan, Mercury. On guitar is John Sykes. The guy is phenomenal. This is video proof of the best line up ever!

you think that was a special performance ? - very flat vocals, no range - and no melody - we have bands like that playing at the local pub every weekend :-D

Well it's a lot better than those awful videos they used to show on MTV. He's a good singer but imo he isn't in the same league as Plant or Mercury.

I think "trouble" is a great album - not impressed with this performance though

I lost interest in Deep Purple after Gillan left. Apparently so did Blackmore; didn't he quit shortly after Coverdale and Hughes came on board?

Edit to add: Actually, my musical interests changed at the time. I was 13 and Queen and Aerosmith had just come out with their first albums - Deep Purple didn't seem so interesting anymore, lol.

He played on Burn and Stormbringer. They brought in Tommy Bolin for Come Taste the Band. All excellent albums. I never really cared for Gillan, cept for his short stint in Sabbath.
