'Adolescent Sex' Is Japan's Best Work...Lyrically

Just lyrically. It's my personal favorite but, I don't think it's their best album.

Degradation takes a soul potential
The woman ain't to blame, well
Infiltrate the morning's passing hours
But love remains the same, well

I know I wish you were black
But ain't no use you pretending
She ain't ever coming back
To put you on the right track

Unamerican humour
With all-American smile
Hovers on the horizon, baby
But no-one can reply, well, well

I know I wish you were black
But ain't no use you pretending
She ain't ever coming back
To put you on the right track
To put you on the right track
To put you on the right, right, right
To put you on the right track

Breezing, breezing, she's no lover
Nobody's lover, babe!
Breezing, breezing

Satisfaction unrequited
A ghetto in your heart
Hoards of mass production baby
Is keeping us apart

I know I wish you were black
But ain't no use singing gospel
She ain't ever coming back
To put you on the right track
To put you on the right track
To put you on the right track
To put you on the right, right, right
To put you on the right track

Well, I'm trying to find
All the love we discovered
That is the way it goes

I'm glad that you agree. Although I don't see any other threads on this topic.

Man, I DO like Adolescent Sex.In fact I adore some songs in that album and contrary to what other people thinks in here I believe it's a better album than Obscure Alternatives.

But you bring again and again the "Adolescent Sex is the best..." whatever. To be sincere I just felt like joking a bit. No offense needed, but I think you've made the point already. Okay? ;)

Wrong reply... you think/believe it is, like I do. But it's a matter of taste. Everyone is free of liking whatever thing better if they do. What I mean is that you talk like your likings are the Bible that everyone should follow. You hate Tool? Right. But others doesn't have to. Speaking that way is the best one to earn a lot of enemies.

Just giving good counsel... ;)

I almost wrecked my car while listening to 'AS'...not because of anything that was my fault but, because it's that brilliant. I was lost in the funk and bounce of Performance.

And the other day I was almost ran over by a touristic train because I was talking on the phone with someone... Maybe you shouldn't listen to it while driving? ;)

As I like Adolescent Sex, I'd say it's good. But better not talking to you again when touristic trains are near ;)

I LOVE Japan...in all their phases. I can never pick one album over the other as they are all great in different ways. Adolescent Sex always makes me feel young and very, very, sexy in a raw way ;). *Digging up my AS CD*

Confession time…. I only replaced my vinyl copies of AS and OA a few weeks ago. Everyone here was so enthusiastic about them – I thought I’d give them another try. So, I’ve bee rediscovering my “inner glam” and very good fun it has been too. I probably feel the same way about these two albums, as others feel about Blemish – if I’m in the right mood they are fantastic, otherwise, I don’t get much out of them.

I was about 9 when AS was released and quite frankly that’s probably just as well. Had I been a hormone packed teenager, seeing David sing Performance live, would probably have made me spontaneously combust! Thinking about it 30 years on still makes me a little flushed :smt053
