Classic SLOPE !

Postby Despair on Wed Oct 29, 2008 2:02 pm

Without realising it, i`d been playing Jansen`s SLOPE pretty constantly over the past couple of weeks.
I dont think its premature to say, this is a classic album.
Normally an album thats as diverse as SLOPE, can suffer for this very reason, but on this album, its diversity is its strength.
SOW THE SALT is my current fave, run a close second by GRIP.
But without doubt Jansen has produced an album as strong as anything JAPAN, Ex Members, and even Sylvian has produced.
A great achievement.
Hope lots of this is played at the forthcoming party!! :)

I was surprised at how solid of an album it is. I was not expecting this. I am not sure I completely agree that it will hold classic status for me a few years on. I may reassess that when I get a chance to see the DVD.

This music is wrapped up in a very special memory of Japan (the country) for me, since I was so fortunate to see the show.
