Tin Drum Limited Edition

Postby Chet on Sat Jun 14, 2008 7:18 am

In Camden Market back in 1985 I found a version of Tin Drum including a Free Poster. When I later noticed that it also included a 12 inch sized book called Maxell presents Japan Sons of Pioneers I became more than happy... but I always guessed that this book was not supposed to be inside this vinyl cover, was it? I assume that some friendly ex Japan fan just put it there before selling it...
Does anybody know?

Here's a lucky story of mine:

When I was 13 or so my dad was talking to a girl he worked with, and she said that she liked Japan, and of course he told her that I did too. So she brought into work a copy of the Sons Of Pioneers tour programme for him to bring home so I could look at it. (Bear in mind I got into Japan just after they split up and wouldn't have been allowed to go to a gig anyway.) So I looked at it and gave it back to my dad so he could give it back to her, but then she said that I could keep it! And I still have it :D

Cool stories on this thread ! i only got my ticket to the Pioneers Tour on the day of the gig in Edinburgh ! This was as a result of their apperance and performance of Nightporter on the Old Grey Whistle Test, i knew i had to be there, i paid £4 over the asking price and had to walk 8 miles home from the train station ~ you can imagine my parents delight to greet their 16 year old son at the door at 3.30 am !

no mobile phones when i was a lad !

The only lucky thing to have happened to me that is directly related to Japan is making new friends because of this forum! All together: ahhhh!
