This is the hardest question in the World, really. Every single song is the master piece by itself. By far their best album ever.
If I must choose only one, 'Ain't That Peculiar' suits best to my currently mood.

"Ain't that Peculiar" is sublime and so very different to the original that it blows me away, but the title track is perfect.

Swing. It´s the onw I never get tired of...I can´t really explain why, I think it´s the bass line.

Ah, this is one Japan album where I love ALL the tracks. However, Swing has the edge and so it has my vote.

It´s a close race between Swing and Methods of Dance for favourite track. But I choose Swing, I just love the bassline and there´s a certain feeling about this song which I can´t quite explain. I´ve never liked Ain´t That Peculiar at all though and think of Taking Islands more as a Sylvian/Sakamoto-collaboration than a Japan-track, but otherwise it´s a near perfect album!

:smt103 OHHHHHHHHHHHH :smt020 WOWWWWWW!!!

I can't believe I've never properly listened to Taking Islands In Africa before!! It is the most INCREDIBLE piece - I feel so uplifted! The bit starting "outside there's a world waiting" takes me completely out of myself for a minute!

Happy happy Hawk!

"My New Career", I love the way Dave whispers/talks "why..boy.." Definitely finding their own style with this album. Brilliant.

When I first bought the album, I was mesmerized by Nightporter. I still love it but over the years, the title track has become a firm favourite with me - closely followed by Swing :smt098

This album never dates. I've had this music since 1980.

I voted My New Career (don't faint inkinthewell!)

Gentlemen Take Polaroids is the first song I heard from the album and My New Career is just so original (as is all of their stuff)
